"I rebelled for this! For you! I died for you! I gave up all that I am so that I could come here to find you!" His eyes sting and his vision blurs, but he presses on, unable to stop. "Everything I have done has been for you, Dean, the way all you do is in service of Sam. You love Sam enough to take his place in Hell, and I love you that I will stay here so you may go home."
Throughout the story, I never cried, and then after I read this paragraph—cue the waterworks. Damn. Everything just clicked in this chapter. No wonder Iris was so annoyed when she heard Cas’ name and demanded his grace. This whole concept is phenomenal because of how deeply you had to have thought it through, and it definitely made sense that Castiel would be appealing to him—his devotion to Dean blows my mind—it truly is on another level.
Another line I loved was when Castile talked about how initially he wished Dean realized all that he sacrificed for him and revered him, like Sam would have, but if that was the case, then the world would have ended in weeks. Same with how Dean had told him to save others in hell rather than Dean himself—all the reasons Castiel loves Dean are so sweet because he loves all his flaws—his stubbornness, his insecurity as well as the good part about those flaws—the bravery, the selflessness’s, etc. Another aspect of this story I loved was how genuinely Castiel cared for Sam, which had nothing to do with his feelings for Dean. The ending for this chapter was perfect…on to the epilogue
